The Last Rodeo · Heart of Broomfield Awards & Fundraiser
The 25th Heart of Broomfield Last Rodeo was amazing
The Thursday, May 28, 2026, milestone celebration was truly special as we honored the people, partnerships, and generosity that have strengthened our community over the past quarter-century. Below are a few snapshots from the fun-packed evening.
170+ honorees over 25 years
A grand reunion
Many former Heart of Broomfield awardees joined us for the celebration. Did you know there were more than 170 award recipients over 25 years?
Enduring Heart Lifetime Achievement Award
The TerHar legacy
One of the evening’s most inspiring moments was the recognition of Jack TerHar Jr. and the TerHar family with the Enduring Heart Lifetime Achievement Award.
A film told the remarkable story of how a $100,000 challenge gift sparked a community movement that grew into a $2 million endowment, creating lasting support for local nonprofits and the residents they serve.

Road to $3 Million
The next million
More than 25 years ago, Jack’s vision inspired our community to establish the Legacy Fund Endowment with a goal of reaching $1 million. Today, that fund has grown to more than $2 million.
At the May 28 gala, Jack issued a new challenge: help Broomfield grow the Legacy Fund Endowment to $3 million by December 2030. To inspire community participation, the TerHar family has committed $50,000 in matching gifts for each of the next four consecutive years.
