  • Dion West, Executive Director

    Passion
I love being a part of a growing Foundation that serves as a hub to empower the entire nonprofit ecosystem in Broomfield. We’re in a period of exponential growth in grant programs, scholarship and emergency funding, as well as our nonprofit education and networking initiatives. The Foundation recently celebrated its 30-year anniversary and it’s an exciting time to be involved in recognizing both how far the Foundation has come, while also playing an important part in where it’s going for the next 30 years.

I cherish the camaraderie I have with a truly wonderful group of Board Members and staff who make my job meaningful, while still finding ways to make it joyful. You know you’re in a BCF staff or Board meeting, because they are always lively, engaging and never dull.

    Professional Background
Prior to my tenure at the Broomfield Community Foundation, I was a practicing attorney specializing in litigation for small businesses throughout Denver, Boulder, and Broomfield Counties. I hold a Master’s Degree in Political Science and a Juris Doctorate (JD) from the University of Colorado Boulder, where I served as a senior member of the law review and as a student director for CU’s Silicon Flatirons Program, combining the study of technology, law, policy and entrepreneurship under Phil Weiser, Colorado’s current Attorney General. In 2018, I volunteered as a BCF Grant Review Committee member, which inspired me to serve as a Board Member for several years, before transitioning my role to that of staff.

    Personal Insights
My husband Jon and I have lived in the area for 28+ years and have two sons. As of Spring 2026, Connor graduated from college a semester early and is pursuing a career in aviation, while Evan will be starting his senior year of high school locally and has a passion for scuba diving, which recently took the whole family to the Dominican Republic. Our family appreciates downtime away from crowds, so you’ll find us traveling to Utah’s backcountry, spending time at our beach house on the Northern California coast, or binge-watching movies together (and arguing over which Christopher Nolan movie is actually the best). We are also a family of foodies, who enjoy making each beloved recipe even better than the last.

    My Superpower
My superpower is finding truly amazing, talented people and then delegating HEAVILY to them. Recently, this superpower has been turbocharged with the addition of Kathy Warling as our Donor Relations & Communications Officer, Kara Green as our new Program Assistant, and Connor West as our new Youth Advisory Council Director.

    Favorite Broomfield Park
After many playdates with a small group of moms I met in birthing class more than 20 years ago, The Bay Aquatic Park will always be a nostalgic favorite. But these days, I’m pretty spoiled enjoying the view of Midway Park right from our new offices.

  • Tiffany Stockard, Office Manager

    Passion
A fifth-generation Coloradan, raised in Broomfield and a proud Broomfield High School alumna, I feel blessed to have served the Broomfield community professionally. I’m grateful to help coordinate the important fundraising by our giving community so that BCF can support imperative nonprofit entities through grantmaking. Assisting residents in all aspects of life, including our direct support for human services, seniors, education, and arts and civics, is very rewarding. We live in a magical place, and BCF continues to improve it for all.

    Professional Background
For over two decades, I balanced the demands of a hair stylist career, helping my clients look and feel their best, with the joys and challenges of raising four children. I retired from the beauty industry in 2014 and in 2015 started college at Front Range Community College. In 2017, I earned an Associate’s Degree in Communication. In 2020, I furthered my professional journey by earning a BS in Business Administration from Regis University. This experience has honed my customer service and interpersonal communication skills, which I now apply to my role serving the Broomfield community and supporting the BCF Board of Directors.

    Personal Insights
Raised here in Broomfield and married to another long-time resident, Michael Stockard. For many years, our lives revolved around our four children. With them now all adults living across the Front Range, we enjoy being the grandparents of three young granddaughters, following the Denver Broncos and playing in our Fantasy Football league. Family is my everything, so when not serving the Broomfield community through work, I’m enjoying the laughter and love of my family. I am also an avid reader and love to cook.

    My Superpower
As Executive Director Dion West noted, she surrounds herself with can-do experts. My superpower is identifying and implementing the required steps for BCF’s robust programs to go off without a hitch. Using the numerous technology platforms across our nonprofit, things get accomplished accurately and on time, ensuring nothing important falls through the cracks.

    Favorite Broomfield Amenities
My favorite Broomfield park is Midway Park, and the library. I grew up riding my bike with my sister Jamie to the library and the park. We have also enjoyed attending many Broomfield Days events at the park; I am so glad the park is still there for all Broomfield residents to enjoy. The library I grew up going to is now the Veterans Museum.

  • Kara Green, Program Assistant

    Passion
My family is my greatest inspiration and the foundation of my values. That foundation extends into my passion for community involvement and service. I believe that strong communities are built through collaboration, service, compassion, and a shared commitment to strengthening the community we call home. I am proud to be a part of the Broomfield Community Foundation and am dedicated to supporting its mission.

    Professional Background
My professional journey began with over 10 years in corporate marketing roles with Target, Rock Bottom Restaurants, and Boston Market. As my family became more connected to our community, I felt a natural shift toward work that creates meaningful local impact. Through leadership roles in local schools and community initiatives, I have worked to foster connection, support families, and strengthen the sense of belonging that makes our neighborhoods thrive.

    Personal Insights
I have lived in the Broomfield area for nearly 20 years. My husband, Dan, and I stay busy with our two children—Eden, a high school golfer, and Lawson, a middle schooler who plays hockey, football, and baseball. We cherish family vacations, and especially love our trips back to the Midwest where we were both born and raised.

    My Superpower
I have a love for organization. A project with a to-do list is my happy place. But my real superpower might be cultivating relationships. I treasure my family and friendships and I work at supporting my people and staying connected.

    Favorite Broomfield Park
Broomfield Commons holds a special place in my heart. I have spent countless hours there watching my children play the sports they love and connecting with friends—moments that have created so many wonderful memories.

  • Connor West, Director, Youth Advisory Council

    Passion
As someone with student leadership experience, I am passionate about youth development and finding ways to involve young people in nonprofit initiatives. The current generation is uniquely aware of the problems around them and just as committed to solving them. It’s incredibly exciting to see how their leadership skills can drive real change in a world that is too often passive.

    Professional Background
In 2025, I graduated from Lake Forest College in Illinois with a degree in political science and a minor in finance. During my four years there, I was heavily involved in leadership organizations including student government, philanthropy council, sustainability committee, and various college task forces. These experiences shaped me into a student leader on campus and also helped me find people I could truly connect with: those who cared about making a difference. As a Colorado native, it’s exciting to be back in this state and giving back to my home community.

    Personal Insights
I am a pilot! I’ve had a passion for aviation since I was 10 years old, and I’m currently working toward a career in flying.

    My Superpower
My superpower is having interests in many different things. I studied social sciences and finance in college. I’m now studying aviation. I can play instruments and draw, and I love ultimate frisbee and weightlifting. That diverse range of interests has given me the confidence that I can learn anything I set my mind to.

    Favorite Broomfield Park
McKay Lake Park has just about everything you could want, for every age group. It’s a perfect example of how intentional infrastructure can accommodate a whole community.

  • Elaine Shannon, Board President

    Passion
I have always been enthusiastic about the people and community I surround myself with. More evident after the recent fires, it takes an entire village to provide comfort and healing in challenging times. I love that the Community Foundation is a bridge, connecting the financial resources of donors with multiple nonprofits that provide aid, growth, comfort, and safety to community members. This is why I keep coming back! I have been involved with the Foundation at various points since the early nineties, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

    Professional Background
My background is in banking. I started my career at United Bank of Broomfield in 1989—oh, the changes I have seen! I had a great mentor, who won the first Heart of Broomfield award. She believed in giving back, and instilled a work ethic that allowed for community participation. Because of this, I’ve kept one foot in Broomfield my entire career. I’m currently Market President of PB&T Bank and specialize in Commercial Lending and Banking. My zip code is 80023, so I’m in Broomfield!

    Personal Insights
I’ve lived in Broomfield most of my life, raising my family and working, so this is home. We’ve had so many good times: massive 4th of July block parties, attending the grand opening of Flatirons Mall, and golf scrambles at Eagle Trace, Omni and Broadlands. So many great friends and so many great memories. My favorite movie is Jaws—watch it!

    My Superpower
My superpower is to be the calm in the storm. I was blessed with the ability to compartmentalize, a true asset in a time of crisis.

    Favorite Broomfield Park
My favorite park in Broomfield is the Bay. So much time spent there during the summer months trying to cool off and keep my kids entertained. And at the end of the season you can bring your dog for a splash in the pool!

  • Lisa Herman, Past President

Past President 2025; Board President 2022–2024

    Passion
I have been volunteering with the Broomfield Community Foundation in some capacity since 2005. Compassion, kindness and service to others are personal core values that align with the mission of the Broomfield Community Foundation. For more than 30 years, the Foundation has been able to spark positive change and growth in our community by connecting the financial resources of donors with nonprofit organizations that support the needs of our neighbors. The best part of being a member of the Board of Directors and Grants Committee? I get a behind-the-scenes look at all the wonderful things nonprofit groups are doing in Broomfield.

    Professional Background
I have more than 20 years of experience in business operations management. Most recently, I served as Chief Operating Officer of a Denver-based energy tech SaaS startup, leading finance and accounting, business operations, customer experience, people operations, and marketing. Prior to that, I spent nearly 18 years in the financial services industry in executive leadership roles spanning operations, human resources, compliance, marketing, strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions. Beginning in 2006, my ‘side hustle’ was building and scaling a retail food business—Happy Bakeshop—with three business partners. Thousands of cupcakes, three locations and 12 years later, we successfully negotiated a sale of the business.

    Personal Insights
I’m a Michigan native and earned an undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Regis University. My husband, Lowell, and I have lived in Broomfield for 20 years. Outside of work, I enjoy travel, cooking and baking, mountain biking, snowboarding and hiking with our two Weimaraners.

    My Superpower
My superpower is creating order out of chaos.

    Favorite Broomfield Park
One of my favorites is one I can see from my backyard: Metzger Farm Open Space. I love it because of the amenities and the history. This designated open space is a joint venture between Broomfield and Westminster that preserved the Metzger family home and farm outbuildings and allowed the cities to build trails on the 150+ acre property.

  • Tanner Tweten, Board Member

    Passion
Community! Being part of a community and helping that community thrive is a big part of who I am, both personally and professionally. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a small town of 200 people in northeastern Montana where everyone was your neighbor and the community was always there to help, no matter the situation or need. While slightly larger, I feel like Broomfield is a city with that same community focus, and the Foundation helps bring together the community to help those in need.

    Professional Background
Shortly after receiving my BS in Business Administration from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, I moved to Colorado and began my career as a banker. I am coming up on 24 years at FirstBank, where I have had the opportunity to support the community in various ways—whether helping a first-time homebuyer, supporting a local business in their expansion efforts, or working with nonprofits like the Broomfield Community Foundation.

    Personal Insights
I have lived in the north metro area since moving to Colorado in 2001, and my wife and I moved to Broomfield in 2008, largely due to the sense of community. We have two boys in middle school and feel very blessed to be part of such an amazing community. Our family enjoys traveling, and woodworking is my form of stress release. I love creating something from scratch with my own two hands!

    My Superpower
The ability to fix (almost) anything! Whether it’s electronics, autos, or general household items, I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of bringing things back to life.

    Favorite Broomfield Park
My local Country Vista Park. Watching my kids enjoy the playground as small children and then expand to the large open space and sports fields has been great.

  • Kelly Mundt, Board Member

    Passion
My passion is GIVING BACK! I believe we all have a duty to leverage our talents and resources to help our communities—the communities we live in, the communities we work with, the communities we call family. To me, it’s part of my DNA, and I truly love it. I am so fortunate that I found the Broomfield Community Foundation when we moved to Colorado in 2018. I consider it a blessing to work alongside my fellow Board members and with the organizations and people we strive to help. We truly work hard to live up to our ultimate goal of Creating a Stronger Broomfield Together.

    Professional Background
I am a self-professed geek. I graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering and later earned an MBA. I’ve spent my entire career affiliated with the automotive industry—starting with manufacturers like General Motors and Bosch, then moving into the aftermarket with companies like AutoZone. I’ve been with Interstate Batteries the last several years, by far the most community-oriented company I’ve worked for, with corporate values that include “Servant’s Heart,” “Love,” and “Community – Together we’re Better.”

    Personal Insights
We have a multi-generational and diverse family! We live on the east side of Broomfield in the McKay Shores neighborhood with my husband Brad, his mother Gisela, my son Nate, and daughter Anna. We’ve lived in Michigan, South Carolina, Germany, and Tennessee, so we’re a pretty eclectic bunch. Since moving here, Brad and I have embraced the Colorado life—discovering a love of hiking and hot yoga.

    My Superpower
Work ethic. I believe we all have innate abilities and talents, but sometimes you simply have to dig in and work hard. You can surprise yourself with what you can accomplish with effort, especially if in the end it helps others.

    Favorite Broomfield Park
On days we can’t get to a trailhead, I love walking around McKay Lake at McKay Lake Park. The bike park there is always busy, and there are always families near the playground and soccer fields.
